Webinar: How MSPs can help their clients stay HIPAA compliant

Posted by Neal Bradbury on Feb 12, 2014 9:05:00 AM

By Neal Bradbury, Co-Founder and VP of Channel Development

We’ve talked a lot about HIPAA on this blog and at live events, but I still hear a lot from IT solution providers who are confused about their responsibilities under the law. On top of that, there are some MSP partners who aren’t quite sure what steps they need to take to protect their own clients.

I hope to clear up some of that confusion and answer some of your burning HIPAA questions in a Channel Expert Hour webinar tomorrow, February 13, at 2 p.m. ET. Register to join us for “3 Imperatives to Ensure HIPAA Compliance for your Customers.”

I’ll be joined by Chris Johnson of Untangled Solutions, who is an Intronis partner that has really grabbed the HIPAA opportunity by the horns and turned his managed services business into a go-to healthcare IT consulting firm.  You can read more about Chris’s successes in healthcare IT in this Partner Story.

Tackling your HIPAA compliance questions

Posted by Neal Bradbury on Nov 15, 2013 11:10:00 AM

By Neal Bradbury, Co-Founder and VP of Channel Development

Last month I was able to join in on a great discussion with a panel of experts who know their stuff when it comes to HIPAA. Our friends at TMCNet hosted a webinar, “HIPAA. It Doesn’t Need to Be Scary” that focused on the opportunity available to IT managed services providers who sell cloud backup in the healthcare vertical.

We received a number of great questions from the audience during the webinar, and since there was only so much time to answer them all, we wanted to tackle a few post-event. Last week, we answered one of the basics: What is a Business Associate Agreement and what does it cover? This week, I’d like to answer a few more that, for the most part, focused on the responsibility of the MSP to help their clients comply with HIPAA.

Next week, Intronis will be joining tech insiders, experts and providers at IT Nation. I'm really looking forward to the event, as we'll be announcing the results of our Inaugural State of Cloud Backup Survey.

We've spent the past few months collecting and combing through survey responses from solution providers throughout the channel with help from Business Solutions Magazine and The 2112 Group. We wanted to get to the heart of the trends, challenges, and opportunities relevant to those who sell cloud backup, and we can't wait to share these insights with you!

Webinar: Why MSPs don't have to fear HIPAA

Posted by Neal Bradbury on Oct 25, 2013 11:10:00 AM

By Neal Bradbury, Co-Founder and VP of Channel Development

On September 23, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act's (HIPAA) final Omnibus rule went into effect, establishing MSPs and VARs as "business associates" and thus liable for any breaches that may occur. However, the numerous steps channel partners must take to ensure their service offerings are secure can seem daunting.

With this in mind, I will be joining TMCNet for a webinar on October 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. EST. Moderating the discussion, "HIPAA. It doesn't need to be scary," will be TMCNet Editor at Large Doug Barney, and joining me as a panelist will be C.J. Ezell, Founder and Managing Member of A-Safe Managed Services.

CompTIA ChannelCon: Where It all comes together

Posted by Neal Bradbury on Jul 16, 2013 4:53:00 PM

By Neal Bradbury, Co-Founder and VP of Channel Development

One of the events I personally look forward to each year is CompTIA’s Breakaway show, which has been renamed ChannelCon. This year’s show, running from Monday, July 29 through Wednesday, July 31, is being held at the Peabody Orlando.

ChannelCon is a vendor-neutral channel event, and this makes it even more valuable for attendees because the focus goes broad and deep. This year’s event will cover several hot trends such as cloud computing, disaster recovery and IT security (three of our personal favorites), plus mobility, social media and more. ChannelCon is also one of the only shows to offer onsite industry certification training, as well as peer-to-peer learning and partner networking.

Intronis is heading out to Robin Robins’ Producers Club, which is being held July 18 – 20 in Nashville, TN. The Producers Club is made up of a group of IT business owners who are personally coached by Robin Robins to achieve the following goals:

  1. Access to a "brain trust" of like-minded entrepreneurs who are serious about finding faster, shorter and better pathways to success.
  2. A structure for accountability and implementation of all the good ideas, marketing strategies and ideas you know you should be doing, but can't seem to get done.
  3. Advanced strategies on sales, marketing, time management and wealth that are not revealed at any other trade shows or conferences.

At Intronis, we’re a big believer in the principles and effectiveness of the Robin Robins’ Producers Club events, and we’re proud to once again be a sponsor of this year’s Producers Club.

Smitty Kirsten, our Vice President of UXD Design, and I will be there to meet with partners and share in this experience. We’d welcome the opportunity to meet with you if you’re planning to be there - just reach out to your account manager, so we can schedule some one-on-one time.

Or if you’re not an Intronis partner, but interested in learning more about our Spring '13 Release, please drop a line to Erin Shaw at eshaw@intronis.com to schedule a meeting with us.  Happy Travels!

Few industry events combine the level of peer-to-peer networking, training and education, and access to the industry’s leading players like the Autotask Community Live show, which is being held June 2-4 at the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale, AZ.

Autotask is a premier PSA (professional services automation) vendor partner that was born in the cloud and understands not only the opportunity that’s available to its channel partners, but the objections and obstacles you need to overcome before you can become successful at selling cloud backup solutions and services. And, that’s why Intronis is proud to be a Gold sponsor at this event.
