Over the past several months, I’ve had the pleasure of congratulating more than 250 Partners on their achievement of Intronis Certified Partner Technician status. As much as I enjoy sending out those congratulatory messages and certification packages, I also enjoy answering the questions that come in from Partners as they’re getting ready to check out our online training for the first time. That’s because I know they’re getting ready to do something great for themselves and their business.
With more than 4,000 tests taken so far in the University, we’ve fielded a fair number of questions along the way, and I thought it might be helpful to share the answers to the most common ones.
Intronis University FAQs
1. Is Intronis University included in my Intronis Partnership, or is there a cost?
Access to Intronis University is completely free and included in your Partnership.
2. What topics are covered in the University?We have courses suited to technicians and non-technicians alike. The Technician track focuses on topics like Initial Setup; Creating Accounts and Backups; SQL, Exchange, and Exchange Mailbox Backups; Advanced Storage Options; Managing Your Accounts; Conducting Restores; Managing and Monitoring Activity; and Managing Usage.
We also offer advanced elective modules designed to help you get the most out of Intronis ECHOplatform’s capabilities when it comes to Hyper-V, VMware, and Imaging, as well as our ConnectWise and Autotask integrations. For Partners looking for tips on selling and marketing Intronis solutions, we have the Business track.
3. What does taking the courses involve?
The courses are a blended format. Most modules contain a video, links to relevant supporting documents, and a knowledge check (quiz) at the end.
4. Can you tell me more about the certification program?
Currently, we offer a certification program within the Technician track, and there are two levels of certification available. To achieve Level I certification, you must successfully complete the core modules and their associated knowledge checks. Level II certification is awarded to any Partner who reaches Level I status and also gets passing scores on two or more of the advanced elective modules. We are currently working on a sales and marketing certification curriculum. In the meanwhile, we suggest checking out the Marketing Booster Pack.
5. Is prior experience required for certification?
Prior experience is not required. The Core modules are designed to help you get started on the right foot, and we’ve had many new techs quickly get up to speed by going through the University. In addition to being a great training tool that Partners can ask their technicians to use, Intronis University is also a good refresher course for any tech who wants to make sure they’re leveraging today’s best practices.
6. How long does it take to do your certification?
This training is self-paced. We’ve had some Partners finish their certification in one day, and others have taken more than a month. The beauty of the program is that not only is it free, but it is available 24/7 and can be done according to your personal schedule. While it’s completely up to you how you progress through the program, we recommend completing the courses within a week for maximum learning and retention.
7. What can I do with my certification?
Your certification benefits you in several ways. For starters, you’ll receive a badge that you can add to your email signature and LinkedIn profile. This will help establish you as a skilled and trusted Intronis technician to your partners and prospects. Also, this will enable you to showcase your value to your business, which is important because we know many of our Partners place a very high value on certifications among their employees. We’ll send you a certificate that can be displayed on your wall as well.
8. As a manager, how can I monitor the progress of my employees?
As Partners progress through Intronis University, they are emailed the results of each test. You can ask your team to forward you their results, or you can check in with email@example.com for a quick update!
9. Where do I go to create an account for my employees so they can access IU?
If you’ve already got an Intronis Essentials account, you can start today at Intronis University. If you don’t, you’ll just need to create an account to get access. You can do that at support.intronis.com.
