Ask Intronis: How to run more efficient restores for my customers

Posted by Courtney Steinkrauss on Mar 30, 2015 9:00:00 AM

Ask Intronis is a weekly advice column answering common questions from MSPs and IT service providers. It covers topics ranging from pricing and selling to marketing and communications—and everything in between. Submit your questions by emailing AskIntronis@intronis.com.

Q: My MSP business just introduced backup and recovery as a part of our service offering. When we need to perform a restore for a customer, we’re under tight time restrictions and need to get their data back as quickly as possible. So we want to make sure our process for restoring our customer’s data is really efficient. What are some of the best practices we can follow to speed things up and keep our customers happy?

We get it. In today’s crowded MSP market, small businesses are demanding IT solution providers who can deliver nearly 24/7 uptime, and that can be tough to do. When your small business customers experience a server crash or disaster, you’re responsible for restoring their information right away, ideally before they even notice there’s a problem.

Posted by Achmad Chadran on Feb 9, 2015 12:00:00 PM

There’s a common misconception that backup techniques are interchangeable. Nothing could be further from the truth. Numerous backup techniques have evolved over time, each leveraging available technology and optimized to suit different requirements, use cases, and environments. Many techniques offer either efficient backup or reliable recovery. Reverse incremental, a lesser-known technique, enables both. To explain how it works, let’s compare it to two commonly-used backup techniques: full and incremental.

Ask Intronis: How to respond to a customer asking about reliability

Posted by Courtney Steinkrauss on Feb 2, 2015 9:00:00 AM

Q: I’m getting close to closing a deal with a new customer, but they’re not that comfortable with technology and seem nervous about backing things up in the cloud. They keep asking about how reliable it really is. What can I say to reassure them and make them understand I have a backup solution they can count on?

Making the switch to cloud backup and trusting a service provider to take care of it and keep their data safe can be a big leap of faith for a small business owner. Basically, they want to know that their data won’t just disappear into thin air because it’s in the cloud.

Making Intronis your single-source data protection provider

Posted by Rick Faulk on Apr 11, 2014 12:30:00 PM

Several months ago, I took a trip to Chicago to visit with a few Intronis partners in the area. I was joined by our VP of Partner Success Jasmine Lombardi, and our goal was to re-connect with these partners and find out what Intronis could be doing to better serve them.

We learned a lot about the features, services, and support our partners want, but one message in particular really resonated with me. It involved MSPs’ need to save time and money by consolidating all of their data protection tools with one solution.

One partner put it very succinctly, saying "Give me one product… a single dashboard… the same tool that does everything."
