What I learned at my first Intronis local lunch

local_lunch-1.jpgIf you’ve visited our blog, followed us on social media, or opened an email from Intronis over the past nine months, you’ve probably heard about our local lunch tour. You might recognize the photos of juicy steaks or even our very own Neal Bradbury riding in a hot air balloon. Since June 2015 we’ve been traveling around the country visiting with MSPs and hosting complimentary luncheons at steakhouses in cities near and far. We’ve enjoyed countless steaks, Intronis partner visits, and conversations with MSPs interested in learning more about the “New Intronis.” Thanks to all of you who have visited with us so far, it’s been a fun journey!

Last week, we hosted a truly local lunch in Hingham, MA, which is just a short drive from the Intronis offices. I had the pleasure of attending and experiencing my first Intronis local lunch. Our Events team here at Intronis has worked hard to perfect these localized visits, so I knew I was in for a treat! As a member of the Partner Marketing team here, I was also really looking forward to meeting with the current Partners who would be attending.

Introducing MSPs to the “New Intronis” over a steak lunch

I joined Regional Account Director Andrew Brearton and Partner Success Manager David Kern at the Scarlet Oak Tavern for the event. The afternoon kicked off with some informal networking among the attendees representing local MSP organizations. It was great to see the group getting to know one another, sharing experiences, and chatting about their businesses. We were pleased to hear that many of them hadn’t gotten a chance to enjoy a meal at the Scarlet Oak Tavern yet, which we later determined to be a new favorite! So everyone was psyched when we raffled off a gift card to the tavern at the end of the meal.

Andrew delivered an engaging presentation, surveying the audience, getting to know the attendees, and discussing the “New Intronis” now that we’re part of Barracuda Networks. He explained in detail the vision for Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda moving forward — our new offerings, 2016 product roadmap, and the enhanced backup capabilities of the Intronis ECHOplatform. David then went over the Partner enablement tools and resources available to all Intronis Partners, including our online certification courses available through Intronis University.

LocalLunch2.jpgAs everyone enjoyed their steak, chicken pot pie, or vegetable risotto lunches, Andrew answered questions and further explained the latest offering we’ve brought to market— Barracuda Essentials for Office 365. The group seemed interested in learning more about this solution, and many mentioned the need to support their customers’ Office 365 environments, email data, and OneDrive files.

Another topic that was mentioned more than once in conversation was Intronis Partner support.  A few of the Partners praised our team of support engineers and their quick resolution time for support cases. We even had one Partner in the audience who used one of the marketing campaigns available in the Partner Toolkit to land new business. As part of the Partner Marketing team, I love getting feedback about how Partners are leveraging the resources in the toolkit, so this was a highlight for me. It was also great to hear from another one of the attendees who’s been partnering with Intronis for 12 years!

The road ahead for Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda

For me, this local lunch was worthwhile because I got to spend time with and hear from Intronis Partners. We’re constantly looking for feedback from our Partners about how we can better enable them and help them grow their businesses, so being able to speak face-to-face was particularly helpful. I also enjoyed getting to connect with local MSPs and hear about their business challenges. We’re always looking for new ways to help them overcome these challenges.

The key takeaway for me was that these local lunches are a unique opportunity for MSPs to exchange advice with their peers, get their questions answered, and learn about what’s next for Intronis. With that said if you haven’t enjoyed a steak lunch courtesy of Intronis yet, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming lunches!
